Methods of information influence of russian federation on the African continent: threats to Ukraine.

Abstract

The large-scale invasion into Ukraine led to worsening of the socio-economic situation in Russia due to the impact of sanctions and high costs for maintaining military activities. Therefore, intensification of activities on the African continent, aimed at gaining access to natural resources and markets, diversification of ways of circumventing sanctions etc., will become increasingly important for kremlin. Strengthening of russia’s positions in Africa poses a threat to the entire system of international security as moscow will continue to create as many sources of instability in Africa as possible to disperse efforts of the democratic world and divert its attention from russo-Ukrainian war. Therefore, the issue of research of methods of influence used by russian bodies becomes an important tool to optimize the response strategy of Ukraine to emerging challenges and threats.
