The paper offers an analysis of the facts of the distortion of the history of Ukraine from ancient times to the present day by Russian propagandists as a means of disinformation to our citizens since the independence of our state. It is noted that the arguments of Putin’s propagandists are most often based not on real facts, but on specific distortions, fabrications and fabrications that have nothing to do with scientific historical truth. Attention is focused on the fact that the Russian mass media have caused irreparable damage to Ukraine’s statehood since its independence for many years. Attention was drawn to the fact that the legislation in Ukraine is too democratic, and the politicians in power did not consider the open existence of public organizations on the territory of Ukraine, which actively popularized and supported the study of the Russian language and culture, to be a problem. Methods of combating Russian propagandists are proposed.
